Thursday at the Temple, etc.

Thursday we got up and got bagels. They were delicious. We had bought one the night before. It was only $.80. Well, 4 bagels with cream cheese were $11. To quote Allie, "That's some expensive cream cheese." I got wheat bagel with cinnamon raisin cream cheese. Ahhh! So good that we went back the next day to get more. Oh, about food. We generally ate cereal or yogurt, fruit, etc for breakfast at the house. We packed peanut butter and jam sandwiches, crackers, trail mix, etc. to carry in our bags. We generally bought some snack or fruit on the street, then we came home to Brooklyn for dinner and relaxation. We enjoyed every treat we tried. Just plain old fresh fruit was delicious, too. Once we stopped at the bodega near Liz's place and bought a loaf of bread, 3 apples and 2 pears. It wa $10. Life is expensive in NYC. Keenan and I went to the ATM about every 3 days to restock.

On train to get to Brooklyn Bridge

Across street from Temple. Look at the sign. Looks like it says "American Fork Art Museum."

We took the train to the upper west side and saw the Museum of Natural History, where "Night at the Museum" took place. We just wanted to find the stuff from the movie. We decided they should just put the dinosaur, tiki, monkey, Pocahontas, etc. in one room for us who don't care to see the whole thing. It was a fun museum, though.

We had time before going to the temple and got a bite to eat across the street at some street vendors. Keenan got some cookies. It hit the spot. We had a nice time doing baptisms for the dead and confirmations. The temple is in a busy part of the city. I think every part is busy. But, once inside, it's quite, just like every other temple. The contrast is quite noticeable, though.

We did a bit more sightseeing, then headed home. We got pizza at Lucali, which is ranked #2 pizza in the country by GQ Magazine. It did not disappoint. I wanted to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, but the girls didn't, so Keenan and I headed out after dinner for a little adventure. We walked across the bridge, then took the train from lower Manhattan back to Brooklyn.

We are getting the hang of the dog, the house, the garden, etc. and lovin New York!
