Saturday, our Last Day

We started by cleaning the house. Keenan did a stellar job of vacuuming while the girls and I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms. We emptied garbages, etc. I believe there were more bagels. We headed to Broadway to see our matinee performance of Cinderella. Thank heaven matinees are a bit more casual than evening shows because Keenan and I didn't really plan well for that. My stuff was a bit casual and Keenan only had shirt and tie or shorts. He opted for shorts. I wore a skirt. Mel wore a new jumper we had bought her at Loehman's earlier in the week. Overpriced, but adorable. That's what vacation is all about, right? Allie wore shorts and a new shirt.

We were  pleasantly surprised to find lots of vendors set up along broadway. We were able to buy t-shirts, last minute souvenirs, a dream catcher for Allie's car, etc. It was really fun to just walk along and see what people were selling. We were all pretty much out of money by this point, so we just bought a few items. Keenan and I both got t-shirts that say Brooklyn. We also bought 2 black and white prints of scenes from NYC to frame and put in the house. I have already bought frames and found a spot for them. I'll hang them soon.

The show was fabulous! We are still trying to figure out how Cinderella changed from her work dress to a ballgown right there on stage. There were more than one wardrobe change right in front of our eyes and Mel was especially mesmerized. As we left the show, we soaked it all in. It was our last hurrah in Manhattan. We took our last train ride to Brooklyn. We stopped and ate at Shake Shack. Those burgers were yummy. We also got an awesome shake and a concrete, kinda like a shake, but thicker. It would be an early morning, so we went to bed fairly early.

Our theater was right next to David Letterman's theater

All dressed up and ready to see Cinderella

The end of shopping in Manhattan. Sad. Like the last day at Disneyland.

At Shake Shack after the show

And...Keenan gives them a thumbs-up

  1. I really LOVED going on this trip vicariously with all of you. Makes me want to do Manhattan again...but don't have the energy for it anymore!
