I've Been Busy in California

I've put a lot of miles on my car and butt going to California. I went with Cathy Voorhees for a couple of days. We had a blast. We stayed at an Airbnb near Disneyland. We got Mexican food at El Torito. We spent a day at the park, then spent the following morning at the beach. We found a house where Bill, Cathy's husband, had lived in his early 20's before coming to Utah.

We then went to Derek and Rachel's house for the afternoon. We hung out and had pizza for dinner. We headed home the next day. We had a fund trip. Cathy is a good friend. She's moving in a couple of months to Missouri. I'll miss her. We've been through a lot together.

Just when I thought I knew where every bathroom was. I found a new one.

Why did Bill ever leave this place? Traffic!

Then just a few days later, I hitched a ride with Allie and Kobi. That trip was awesome, too. We stayed at my friend Jenny Hebdon's house for a couple of nights, then Kobi and Allie had their own adventure at an Airbnb and I spent time with the Hunters. I then flew home. I'm pretty sure Kobi and Allie were glad I joined them since I paid the $160 to fix the air conditioning in Allie's car in Las Vegas on our way down.

Kobi, Allie and I enjoyed a fun day at Disneyland. We found the area for annual pass holders. We sure felt special. I went on the silly swings for the first time and realized I really liked it. We found places to get free cups of ice water, too. It was a great day. We tried pixar fest food, including the world's BEST hot dog, a pulled pork dog with pork, teriyaki sauce, and pineapple sauce. The bun was fantastic, too. I'm determined to recreate them.

THE hot dog. The fries were great, too.

The next day, Allie and Kobi "went hard" at Disneyland, while I stayed home with Jenny. We just hung out and had a great time. We swapped stories of food we make, recipes we've found, etc. We also took her kids to Disneyland in the afternoon, after Blake got home from preschool. Can you believe we ran into Allie and Kobi twice that day? It was great. The girls took Jenny on the single rider line at Space Mountain while I took the kids to play with Legos in the Star Wars Launch Bay. I can't wait to go visit Jenny again. The girls were then kind enough to drive me to Derek and Rachel's house when we found out it would take me 4 hours to get there by bus and train. Rose was so happy to see her awesome cousin, Allie.

Max Hebdon on the train. Somehow I missed getting a pic of Blake. Next time...

So, then I had 3 wonderful days with my favorite people. Rachel worked in the yard. I painted their vanity area. I did crafts with Rose and accompanied Derek to his awesome grocery store. We really had a fun time. We went to a place called Vasquez Rocks where you can climb and play. That was great. Rachel and I took Milo to Disneyland, too. That made 3 weeks in a row that I got to go. Oh, and we went to El Torito for dinner after the park. Delicious.

Quite the photo shoot with Rose

A craft that Rose and I did. Parents should be able to give permission for kids to buy books like the one that makes cat pom pom crafts look easy. Sheesh.

Rachel commented on how easy it was to take just one kid to Disneyland. Milo was really perfect.
